                <text>La imagen de Iparraguirre se encuentra en posición heroica. En una mano lleva la guitarra y en la otra una azada. La azada indica que la obra fue costeada por suscripción popular y simboliza el arraigo del bardo en la población, especialmente de los caseríos.&#13;
&#13;
Obra  realizada por el escultor Francisco Font  y Pons e inaugurada el 28 de septiembre de 1890. Escultura realizada en mármol de Carrara. Descansa sobre un pilar realizado por Dionisio Acha (de Zumárraga) con piedras de Mañaria. La losa o zócalo es de piedra arenisca. Originalmente se encontraba todo el conjunto rodeado por una verja de hierro. &#13;
&#13;
El pilar o pedestal muestra cuatro cuarteles. Lleva a su frente el escudo de armas de Gipuzkoa. En el lado que mira a la Iglesia se lee “José María Iparragirre bere jaioterriak Euskal Erri guztiak baita ere erbesteetan sakabanatutako euskaldunak eskeintzen dioten oroipen au MDCCCLXXXX”. Al costado derecho: “Euskal Erriaren oroipena”. Y al izquierdo hay una guitarra y unas partituras musicales en las cuales se leen los primeros compases del himno “Gernikako Arbola”.</text>
