<p>"Este que aquí véis, hombre a quien los años y las viscisitudes de la vida tiñeron de blanco barba y melena, y surcaron de arrugas la espaciosa frente, dando a su fisonomía, de suyo noble y expresiva, un cierto aire de magestad que infunde respeto, es el bardo popular Iparraguirre, el cantor del <i>Guernikako arbola</i>, el que en los días de su brioza mocedad electrizó a las multitudes, cuando guitarra al brazo, recorría las ciudades, villas y lugares del país vasco, y en todas partes llegaba con la magia de su voz y de su gesto al alma de cuantos le oían"...</p>
